The Great Place Award 2016 Soundscapes

For the second year, Prof. John Levack Drever AoU returned to the finalists of The Great Place Award to record their acoustic ecology.

This year’s finalists at the 2016 Urbanism Awards were; Peace Bridge/Ebrington Square in Derry~Londonderry, Irvine Harbour in Irvine and Scale Lane Bridge in Hull. John Drever, Professor of Acoustic Ecology and Sound Art at Goldsmiths, University of London.

Prof. Drever , Professor of Acoustic Ecology and Sound Art at Goldsmiths, University of London, recorded soundscapes during the assessment visits. Acoustic ecology allows us to study the relationship between living beings and their environment, mediated through sound.
