    Good Afternoon
The Viking Triangle is honored to be recognized by The Academy of Urbanism’s prestigious Urbanism Awards. Our short listing as one of your three finalists in the Great Place Category, which recognizes and celebrates great places and highlights best practice destinations, with a range of European competitors is a great opportunity for us as a developing destination. Our vision to create a vibrant , authentic and distinctive urban cultural and heritage quarter in Ireland’s oldest city is well underway. It is about creating a unique identity and tourism proposition based on our authentic connections with our Viking Past. This award recognizes the commitment of the many stakeholders both public and private sector to our destination development. The Viking Triangle destination quarter is building a profile as a cornerstone and an anchor attraction for the south east region, one that will encourage both domestic and international visitors to increase their dwell time and spend in our region. This recognition compliments our current Three Sisters, European Capital of Culture bid 2020.

Please advise when you anticipate the judges visit to Waterford Viking Triangle will happen and the criteria will be be assessed on during this visit. We would like to ensure that we are well prepared for your visit and have the appropriate people available to meet with your panel of assessors during their visit.
