We are delighted to invite you to The Academy of Urbanism’s Official Network Launch Party for the Young Urbanists. With our new Young Urbanist membership we are inviting students and early career professionals to be part of The Academy of Urbanism’s expanding network. Young Urbanists will have a willingness to develop their knowledge of the principles, techniques and processes of good urbanism, and will have opportunities to network with their peers and meet Academicians.
Join us for a fun and interactive evening of talks, tours, crafts, snacks, drinks and networking, exploring our favourite and least favourite places. The evening will comprise a welcome from Academician David Waterhouse of Design Council Cabe and a series of fast-paced talks – dubbed the 6×6 (6 speakers at 6 minutes each).
- João Cortesão AoU, PhD Student at University of Porto
- Catherine Greig AoU, Director of make:good
- Dr Claudia Murray, Research Fellow at University of Reading
- Anna Sinnott (Young Urbanist), Director of Planning at BDP
- Olga Surawska (Young Urbanist), PhD Student at University of the Arts London
Bring along one A4 sheet of either your favourite or least favourite place. It can be a building, street, park, city, public space, private room or anywhere else that is special (or not) to you. Be creative! Prizes are up for grabs, so put together a picture, drawing, map, poem or anything else you can to express your favourite or least favourite place in the most innovative way.
Please add the date to your diary and RSVP to Bright Pryde (email@example.com) to reserve your place. Please note the event is FREE to attend.
You can stay updated on event details through the AoU Young Urbanists Facebook Group.
We encourage you to pass this invitation on to any peers, colleagues or students who might be interested in attending – help us build the Young Urbanist Network.
