#AoUNeighbourhoods: Rob St Mary, director of Patronicity, to speak

Rob St. Mary
Director of Outreach, Patronicity

Born and raised in a working class suburb of Detroit, Rob cultivated a love of media and community at a young age. From an underground student newspaper at 17 to producing an independent film that played at the Cannes Film Festival at 21 and a distinguished 14 year career in radio news to 2016 Michigan Notable Book Award honors, Rob understands how stories connect us, help us understand who we are, and what we strive to be.

With his storytelling skills, Rob began working as part of the Patronicity team in mid-2015. Since then, he’s been a key member of the start-up’s focus on community engagement and sponsor recruitment to help improve quality of life and economic opportunities. In just over three years, Patronicity has helped Michigan, Massachusetts and Indiana communities, large and small, to create over 200 projects, crowdfunding over $7 million with extended economic impact of over $25 million to towns large and small.

Hear Rob St. Mary speak at our forthcoming event, There Goes the Neighbourhood, in Dundee, on 23 November 2017.
