CPRE – the countryside charity
Head of land use and planning
I’ve been head of planning at the Campaign to Protect Rural England since July 2014, simultaneously trying to complete doctoral research into the use of visions in English place-shaping from a utopian perspective, which I started in 2011.
Prior to that I was head of policy and practice at the Royal Town Planning Institute, with 15 years of planning policy experience in South Oxfordshire, Aylesbury Vale and Watford councils. As a planning undergraduate I specialised in urban design, and landscape planning for my DipTP. I’ve also had stints in transport planning research and as a census area manager for the tests ahead of the 2001 census.
