YU Event / Urbanism in Bristol
February 23, 2017 @ 18:00 - 20:30 GMT

Join the Young Urbanists, a growing Network of students and young professionals interested in urbanism, as we host our inaugural event in Bristol. Launched in 2013, the Young Urbanists have been growing steadily since inception and are keen to develop the Network across the UK.
Hosted in The Architecture Centre in the heart of Bristol, the event ‘Urbanism in Bristol’ will explore the Academy’s Urbanism Awards Finalists from Bristol. Academicians Geoff Haslam and Nick Childs will share their experience and insights into some extraordinary places in Bristol as Lead Assessors for the Urbanism Awards. They will be accompanied by David Rudlin, who will discuss the Academy’s new ‘Urbanism‘ book and share some thoughts about these places. The event hopes to highlight some of the amazing places that Bristol has, showcase their strong presence in the Academy’s annual Urbanism Awards, and provide an introduction to the Young Urbanist Network.
Speakers include:
- Geoff Haslam AoU, Director of Local Agenda
- Nick Childs AoU, Founding Partner of Childs + Sulzmann Architects and Chair of Trustees at The Architecture Centre
- David Rudlin AoU, Chairman of The Academy of Urbanism, Director at Urbed, and co-author of the Academy’s new ‘Urbanism’ book
There will be an introduction to The Academy of Urbanism and the Young Urbanists from Young Urbanist Coordinator, Bright Pryde-Saha.
