YU Event / The Young Urbanists Agenda: Redesigning Housing

November 16 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

This event is kindly being hosted by Arup

Join us for the launch of our collaborative agenda for the future of urbanism and the first in a series of events exploring themes from the project. As UN member countries start implementing the New Urban Agenda on a global scale, the Young Urbanists have tackled key themes centred on a UK context regarding the forces that will shape the next decade and more of urban life, development and management. In our agenda, created over a series of workshops and focus groups, we put forward our suggestions for more inclusive and sustainable futures.

The first theme we will tackle is the topic on everybody’s minds: housing. How can we ensure a more equitable future for homes in our cities and towns? What alternative models of housing should be explored? How should local, regional and national policy change to better respond to housing need? Come along and take part in the discussion with a range of brilliant speakers as well as Academy Chair David Rudlin – and let’s move this agenda forward.

Speakers include:

David Rudlin AoU – Chair, The Academy of Urbanism

Ross Gilbert YU – Managing Director, QED Property

Stephen Hill – Founding Director, C20 futureplanners

Lisa Taylor – Chief Executive, Future of London

Josh Graham – Co-founder, ehabitation

Andrea Forsberg YU – Strategic Planner, Greater London Authority

Includes drinks and refreshments! The event is FREE to YU members/Academicians and £5+VAT for non-members.
