Event / Sketching the Borderline
September 23, 2016 @ 11:00 - 16:30 BSTFREE
30 free tickets to enjoy this place-making journey
When was the last time you ventured outside with your pen and sketch book?
You are invited to a light-hearted learning day away from your computer, in Scotland, to doodle your place-making observations, and experiences, along the new Borders railway.
Think you can’t draw? Well, whether you’re novice or pro at sketching we are delighted to announce that our special guest Richard Rees will be on hand to offer inspirational drawing tips and support along the journey. The day will be all about looking at places (en route) and drawing whatever catches your eye – whether it’s something of beauty or simply doesn’t make sense and could be improved. Plus, to keep things simple – sketch books and pens will be provided.
Come bring your sense of Academician adventure, to Scotland, and experience one of its largest engineering infrastructure projects, as well as the creation of new places from Edinburgh to the home of Sir Walter Scott.
All aboard 23rd September 2016 | 11am to 4:30pm | Edinburgh Waverley as start destination
This event is free to attend and includes free return travel from Waverley Station in Edinburgh to Galashields. A detailed schedule will be issued to participants closer to the event. You are encouraged to book early, however, as spaces are restricted so we will operate a first come, first served basis. The free place also includes a return ticket from Galashiels to Waverley Station at the end of the event. The day is open to all Academicians and Young Urbanists. To book a place or for further information email Susie Stirling.
With thanks to all the sponsors for making this day possible
