Places in Transition, redefining the MK City Region
November 27, 2014 @ 18:30 - 20:30 GMT
The ninth in the ‘Future City’ series of free talks will look at two place-based approaches that could underpin a strategic and economic approach for the future and facilitate a prosperous city region.
- Pat Willoughby, Planning Partner at Wei Yang & Partners:
Pat will present their shortlisted submission for the 2014 Wolfson Economic Prize that advocated an ‘arc of opportunity’’ beyond the London Green Belt stretching from Southampton, Oxford and Cambridge to Felixstowe, an area which is seen as the best location for the development of new garden cities.
- Caryl Jones, Communications Manager at East West Rail Consortium
Building on the East West strategic corridor theme, Caryl will present a perspective on the East West rail upgrade and the work of the East West Rail Consortium and what this could mean for economic growth in the region. This is one project that could really act as a catalyst for many of the city region aspirations.
- Dr Ann Limb OBE, Chair South East Midlands Local Enterprise Partnership
The talk will be held at MK Gallery, Central Milton Keynes. Doors and the pay bar will be open from 6.30 pm, the talks will start at 7.00 pm and be followed by a Q&A session.
