People, places and culture [AoU Midlands]
March 6, 2014 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pmfree
Building on the success of last December’s talks that accompanied the Future City exhibition, MK Gallery collaborates with The Fred Roche Foundation to host several more in the coming months, aiming to stimulate creative discussion and debate around subjects that are vital to the growth and vitality of Milton Keynes.
The ‘Future City’ series of talks will look at a variety of future city issues and emerging social, infrastructure and economic trends.
In the first of three events – People, Places and Culture – the speakers will address questions around how to build a fair, active, equitable and cohesive community: one that is fit for everyone, now and in the future.
- Allan Cochrane: Professor of Urban Studies (Social Policy and Criminology), The Open University
- Pam Gosal: Head of Corporate Economic Development and Inward Investment (Invest MK)
- Chair: Julia Upton, Director, MK Community Foundation
The talks have been arranged by Academician and AoU Midlands convenor, Stuart Turner, together with MK Gallery. Academicians are invited to participate in the conversation on where our cities and headed.
All talks will be held at the Milton Keynes Gallery (900 Midsummer Blvd, Milton Keynes MK9 3QA) at 19.00hrs. Doors and the pay bar will be open from 18.30. Talks will start at 19.00 and are followed by a Q&A session. Attendance is free, but pre-booking is essential.
