Event / The City as Developer

Join us for an evening panel discussion, held jointly with The Urban Design Group, to unpack the topics addressed in the Urban Design Journal Summer 2015 edition, entitled ‘The City as Developer’.

Leading propositions:

· The City is both ‘City hall’ and Civil Society.

· Development is the collaborative shaping of enjoyable places that nurture successful livelihoods.

· Planning formulates visions, initiates innovation and moderates change.

Theme for discussion:

With the City posed as Master Developer: is UK Planning fit for purpose?

 Speakers will include:

  • Henk Bouwman, Director of The Academy of Urbanism
  • Peter Studdert AoU, Chair of the quality review panel London Legacy Development Corporation
  • Dick Gleeson, Past Director of The Academy of Urbanism
  • John Worthington Guest editor, Past Director of The Academy of Urbanism and UDG Patron.

Tickets can be purchased at the door from 6.00pm: £3.00 for UDG and Academy members and £7.00 non-members; £1.00 for UDG and AoU member students and £3.00 non-member students.
