Our bi-annual review event to review recent activities and find out what’s planned for the next six months.
This Review will take a special look at The Urbanism Awards – from how and when we run nominations through to the ceremony. Members are invited to join us to contribute their ideas and views to help shape the programme for next year and beyond.
The Review will be followed by a special talk by outgoing AoU Director Kevin Murray. Join us for the Review, the talk by Kevin Murray or both of these events.
15:30 Review – open to AoU Members
18:00 Talk by Kevin Murray – open to all
The landscape of urbanism – from elite professionalism to collaborative participation
The trajectory of the Academy from its origins to its future
A presentation and discussion with AoU Founder Director Kevin Murray PPRTPI AoU
An overview of the context of the roots of the Academy, its evolution and successes, and prognosis about its future, as basis for a creative dialogue among Academics, YUs and associated practitioners.
This is part of Kevin Murray’s ‘farewell reflections’ as he steps down as a founding Director on our Board, having been involved with John Thompson, George Ferguson and others since before the launch of the AoU.
It should be a fun, memorable, but also thought provoking occasion. If you care about the AoU and direction of urbanism, please come along.
