About Programme Speakers Study Tours Venue Book Now!

Milton Keynes is working towards a Festival of Creative Urban Living for autumn 2019. In the lead up, Milton Keynes Council, The Academy of Urbanism and MK Gallery are collaborating to deliver a conference to feed into the debate on the Oxford-Cambridge Arc and the implications of plans to build a million homes throughout the arc by 2050.

The conference is being supported by David Lock Associates, Milton Keynes Development Partnership, Crest Nicholson plc, Berkeley Group, St James, L&Q Estates. Other partners and supporters to be announced soon.

Programme

22 May 2019 – 12:00-19:30
Includes an introduction to MK through a series of study tours that will look at how the city is being designed for living, as well as an evening reception hosted at MK Gallery.

23 May 2019 – 08:30-17:15
Day two offers talks and panel debates that will look closely at the role of design in building a million homes in the Oxford-Cambridge Arc. The day will be divided into three overarching sessions: planning for region growth; masterplanning new neighbourhoods; housing innovation. The day will finish with a final keynote talk by our soon-to-be-announced international planning expert.
