Creating Places for People

This keynote seminar will cover a variety of current topics related to promoting good urban design and the importance of creating quality places and spaces.
The seminar will be delivered by Academician Philip Jackson, an associate with Scott Tallon Walker Dublin based Architects. He will look at how good design and policy making can create places that are built around a number of key areas such as connectivity, sustainability and wellbeing. This will be followed by a panel discussion that will be chaired by David Rudlin, Chair of the Academy, and will include contributions from Derry City and Strabane District Council’s Chief Executive John Kelpie, Maura Fox, Head of Planning, and Iain Greenway, Director of the Department of Communities’ Historic Environment Division. The Master of Ceremonies for the evening will be local broadcaster Joe Mahon.
