AoU Coffee Break, Scotland
September 22 @ 11:00 – 11:45 BST
Building an alternative food system – the Locavore experience
Locavore is a social enterprise in Glasgow which exists to help build a more sustainable local food system, which is better for our local economy, the environment and our communities. For this week’s Coffee Break, we will be joined by Managing Director, Reuben who started Locavore after working on community garden projects on the south side of Glasgow.
As part of The AoU in Scotland’s responses to National Planning Framework 4, and the Town Centre Action Plan Review, we discussed food and food systems as being integral to creating liveable places. Join us with questions and thoughts for Reuben on his experience with Locavore.
Members based in Scotland will receive a link to join the Coffee Break via email. If you are an AoU member in another region or nation, you are welcome to drop in on us – just email AoU_Scotland@academyofurbanism.org.uk – and we will send you a link to join.
We may record the session so we can share it with those unable to attend. If you do not wish to be recorded please feel free to keep your video turned off, so that images are not captured – we will let you know once we start to record.
If you would like to volunteer to give a future Coffee Break talk, or have an idea for an event, please do get in contact. In future weeks we will be changing the time of our Coffee Break, now that folk are back at work and the summer holiday season is over.
