AoU Coffee Break, Scotland
May 20 @ 13:00 – 13:45 BST
If you’d like a break from work and to meet some friendly AoU faces, join us for an AoU Coffee Break. These sessions are hosted and organised by a group of Young Urbanists in Scotland, and are open to all. If you have never been to an AoU event before, or are thinking about joining, you are welcome to come along and join the discussion.
For this session we will be joined by Dr. David McArthur, Senior Lecturer in Transport Studies and Associate Director of the Urban Big Data Centre (UBDC) at the University of Glasgow.
The UBDC is a research centre and national data service, and promotes the use of big data and innovative research methods to improve social, economic, and environmental well-being in cities. David’s talk will outline some of the centre’s work using CCTV cameras in Glasgow to derive pedestrian counts. David will also discuss some of the planned applications of the data.
Register in advance for this meeting:
