AoU Coffee Break, Scotland

March 4 @ 13:00 13:45 GMT

The AoU Coffee Breaks are back for 2021, with an AoU Young Urbanist takeover.

Coffee Breaks are scheduled for the first and third Thursday of each month, from 13:00 – 13:45, and will take place over zoom.

This week, AoU Young Urbanist, Simon Wasser will give a short talk on Cohousing: towards a new model of living? followed by discussion with those on the call.

Cohousing provides an opportunity for us to reflect on our values around homes, privacy and community and challenges our assumptions about how neighbourhoods, streets and housing should function.  Simon will discuss cohousing and how it responds to many of today’s issues in the built environment, presenting his research on the RIBA and RTPI award-winning cohousing project Marmalade Lane in Cambridge, which explored the role of planning in delivery.

AoU members based in Scotland will receive a link to the event via a newsletter. If you are an AoU member based elsewhere, and would like to attend, you would be very welcome, drop an email to aou_scotland@academyofurbanism.org.uk and we can send you a link.

Look out for an update soon, in the meantime, pencil these dates in your diary!
