2018 Urbanism Awards Ceremony + Learning From Europe
November 8 @ 3:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Join us and over 200 urbanists from across the UK, Ireland and Europe for a day of inspiration and celebration at this year’s Urbanism Awards Ceremony and Learning from Europe seminar.
Learning from Europe will commence mid-afternoon, combining inspiration and insight from senior representatives of our European City of the Year Finalists for 2018: Bilbao, Ljubljana and Vienna.
We will then up the tempo at The 2018 Finalists Welcome, when Ian McMillan – poet, journalist, playwright, broadcaster and the Academy’s Poet-in-Residence – will present, in his own inimitable style, the sonnets he has composed to celebrate each of our three Finalists for The European City of the Year and – for the UK and Ireland – The Great Town, Neighbourhood, Street and Place.
Following the Ceremony, a dinner of bowl food will be served in the foyer along with drinks and entertainment.
This is a great opportunity to share your enthusiasm for better urbanism with other enthusiasts in a lively, provocative and friendly atmosphere, enhanced by the remarkable setting of U+I’s stylish Victoria venue. I hope you will join us for the whole event, and bring along colleagues and friends to share the excellent value that this year’s event will offer and to find out more about the mission, achievements and activities of the Academy.
