The Academy of Urbanism, through its Learning from Place programme, is committed to helping members of the UniverCities network to share their experiences with others and to deepen their understanding of the many ways in which our towns and cities can benefit from opening up opportunities for shared learning and collaborative working between: local colleges and universities, local government officers and elected councillors, and communities of practice.

In concluding the test phase of the Academy’s SEEDA-funded South East UniverCities concept, we will be gathering participants, members of the appointed steering group and Academicians to:

> Review progress with particular projects to date
> Help evaluate and improve the concept/process of becoming a UniverCity
>Share plans for continuing as UniverCities over the next 2 years
>Discuss the process of formalising modes of collaboration
>Explore the idea of forming a regional as well as an online network
>Plan a UniverCities Forum for the Academy’s Annual Congress in May

This event will help to forge the final UniverCities Starter-Pack document - which is currently in BETA format - and also help to influence how we expand this programme.
