The Academy of Urbanism is an autonomous, politically independent, cross-sector organisation formed in 2006 to expand urban discourse.

The Academy brings together a diverse group of thinkers, decision-makers and practitioners involved in the social, cultural, economic, political and physical development of our villages, towns and cities, and is an active membership organisation.

The Academy seeks to identify and promote best practice in urbanism

On location: Exmouth Market

The 2011 Urbanism Award Assessment visits have kicked off with a visit to Exmouth Market, Clerkenwell.

The Academy will be visiting 14 other places across the UK, Ireland and mainland Europe over the summer months with groups of Academicians as part of our commitment to Learning from Place.
