We invite you to join us in Birmingham for the Academy’s 10th Annual Congress where we will be exploring wellbeing and liveability of towns and cities from the angle of those who live in them.

We will look at the impact that the urban environment can have on our physical and mental health, considering how to create inclusive, safe and comfortable environments for a diverse and ageing population.

Birmingham provides an excellent laboratory with its canal network and a range of transformational locations set against a growing population, new housing, commerce and culture.

During Congress you will have the opportunity to visit some of the AoU award winning neighbourhoods and places, including The Custard Factory, the Jewellery Quarter and Brindley Place, and learn why The Rough Guide has listed Birmingham as one of the top 10 cities in the world, alongside Johannesburg and New Orleans.
