How to join in
Academicians are encouraged to join either a single visit, all three visits in a category, or more. The visits are a rewarding way to contribute to the Academy’s work whilst gaining valuable CPD learning from some exceptional places. Academicians joining an Assessment Team will unfortunately be required to fund their own travel and accommodation expenses.
What does a visit include?
A typical visit will include introductions from our hosts on the past, present and future of their place. This is followed by site visits to witness the effects of any transformation or process of change. Here, we get the opportunity to meet a wide variety of local stakeholders – from shopkeepers to councillors – to really understand what makes the place successful.
European City of the Year visits
There are only a limited number of places available on the visits for The European City of the Year Award. Please express your interest in this category as soon as possible to Linda Gledstone.
