Trevor Osborne

The world is becoming increasingly aware that good urban environments contribute to the quality of life enjoyed by us all yet so few cities and towns have grasped the fundamental truth and understanding that urban spaces can be memorable "places" contributing to our well being.

We must, of course, maintain our buildings and add to the quality of towns with new ones but at the same time we must recognise that streets, squares, corners and courtyards are the public areas to be used for human activity and not to be overwhelmed by vehicle movements.  Places are to be enjoyed, for meeting, business and human activity and must not be relegated to a lower purpose.
